Beautiful Notes ("we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what data we process, how we use it, and your choices when using the Beautiful Notes mobile app.

1. Data We Process

A. Data you create in the app

• Notes content (title, text, markdown, checklist items, tags)
• Note metadata (favorites, pinned state, created/updated times, reminder times)
• Attachments you add (such as image and audio references)

B. App settings and preferences

• Theme selection
• Sync enabled/disabled preference
• Local passcode setting (stored on your device)

C. Notifications data

• Notification permission status
• Reminder schedules you create

D. Optional cloud sync data

If you enable sync, note data is transmitted to and stored in our cloud backend (Firebase/Google Cloud services) to support syncing functionality.

2. How We Use Data

• To provide core note-taking features
• To save and restore your notes and preferences
• To schedule reminder notifications you request
• To support optional cloud sync when enabled
• To maintain app functionality and reliability

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data.

We use third-party infrastructure providers to operate app features, including:

• Google Firebase (authentication and cloud database for optional sync)
• Expo services (build/distribution and notification-related infrastructure where applicable)

These providers process data as needed to deliver their services.

4. Data Storage and Security

• Local note data is stored on your device.
• Sync data (if enabled) is stored in Firebase.
• Data is transmitted over encrypted connections where supported.

No system is 100% secure, but we use reasonable measures to protect data.

5. Your Choices

• You can disable sync at any time in app settings.
• You can delete notes in the app.
• You can revoke notification permission in your device settings.
• You can uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.

6. Children’s Privacy

Beautiful Notes is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the effective date at the top of this page when changes are made.
